Vivid Racing is a highly recognized online automotive tuning, parts and accessories marketplace that sells to customers worldwide. Since 2001, Vivid Racing has become a multi-million dollar company and its presence in the sector has been featured in several automobile magazines and sports channels. Due to the model and customization characteristics of this online store, as well as the global scope of its deliveries, the development of the features involved were a challenge from the beginning of the process.

Goals

One of the objectives of the site was to create a customized parts and accessories search system to enable users to have a more explicit and faster search. With this in mind, we implemented a product classification system based on brand, year and model for more than 356.000 products. Now, thanks to our committed job search results are more relevant depending on every user’s needs.
Looking for a product trade expansion, the site needed a synchronization system between the main product catalog and the mini-sites product catalog. In that way it would be possible to create easily new catalogs based on specific brands or manufacturers.
Aiming to make the ‘’wheels’’ selection process more efficient, we developed the Wheel Configurator, an app that permits the user to load a picture of their vehicle on the fly and previsualize the product to be purchased on the car.
Another main objective was to streamline the checkout process. To achieve this, we created a One Page Checkout, which brought two clear advantages: decreasing the time users spent finalizing a purchase and reducing the percentage of shopping cart abandonment during checkout.
